Deskzap installation instructions

Set up Deskzap in three practical steps: install the outgoing operator app on the devices you connect from, install the managed-host app on the computers you want to reach, and then connect from the Deskzap console once devices appear in your inventory.

Before you start

New organizations receive a 3-day trial by default. During the trial, linked devices appear in the Deskzap dashboard. If the trial expires before a subscription is active, Deskzap shows the onboarding state again and the Buy now banner points to checkout.

Set up Deskzap in 3 steps

1 Install Deskzap Access

Put the outgoing operator app on the technician machine or business workstation that should start remote sessions.

2 Install Deskzap Accessed

Install the managed-host app on the remote desktop or laptop you want to control through Deskzap.

3 Enroll and verify

Let the host check in with its enrollment token so it appears in the device inventory with the right group and policy context.

4 Start the session

Open Deskzap Access, sign in, and start approved sessions from the Deskzap web console.

Install Deskzap Access on the devices you connect from

Use Deskzap Access on laptops, office workstations, or support terminals. The Access app is the outgoing side of the session and should not be installed on every endpoint by default.

  1. Open the Deskzap download center from the web app.
  2. Choose the target operating system for Deskzap Access.
  3. Download the operator package and run the included launcher.
  4. Sign in with your Deskzap account and keep the app installed for future sessions.
Need the package now?

Open the Deskzap download center at my.deskzap.co.uk/management/configuration/deployment/downloads.

Install Deskzap Accessed on the computers you want to remotely access

Deskzap Accessed is the incoming managed-host app. Install it on the machine your team wants to reach. It uses the package profile, group assignment, and enrollment token provided by Deskzap.

  1. Open Add remote computer in the Deskzap console.
  2. Copy the shareable link or download the Accessed package directly.
  3. Run the packaged launcher once on the target computer so the host profile is applied.
  4. Wait for the machine to check in and appear in Deskzap Computers.

Permissions and approvals

Managed hosts may require operating-system permissions depending on platform and feature usage. Screen recording, accessibility, startup behavior, and network permissions should be approved during your rollout process.

  • Windows is the fastest operator path for Deskzap Access.
  • macOS host rollout is best handled through MDM because privacy approvals should be managed centrally.
  • Linux hosts benefit from configuration-management rollout so service startup is consistent.

Deployment methods

Deskzap supports multiple rollout patterns depending on how much control you need and whether you are onboarding one device or an entire group of machines.

  • Method 1: Share the Add remote computer link for one-off installs.
  • Method 2: Download Deskzap Accessed directly from the download center.
  • Method 3: Create a deployment package with a naming rule and group assignment.
  • Method 4: Push the package through MDM, RMM, or internal software deployment.

Connect from the Deskzap Access app

Once the remote machine appears in Deskzap Computers, use the Deskzap Access app on your operator machine to connect. Deskzap issues session authorization and the runtime uses the approved session path before pairing.

  1. Open Deskzap Access.
  2. Sign in with your Deskzap account.
  3. Open the Deskzap web console and choose a managed computer.
  4. Start the approved session from Deskzap.
